St George's Day
25th April 2010
Lord Baden-Powell chose St. George to be The Patron Saint of The Scout Association as he felt that he set a good example of faith, courage and perseverance.
So, on the nearest Sunday to St. George's day (23rd April), Scouts all over the world gather to reaffirm their Promise and acknowledge the Scout Law in local acts of dedication.
As with Swanley District Scouts, most combine this with an activity day and take the opportunity to recognise the achievements of their fellow Scouts.
